Water Temple

Adult temple 4 listed sources

The Water Temple is three water levels and a lot of boots. Morpha is the boss. The Longshot is the item, behind Dark Link.

Keys, levels, and the mirror fight

In the original, play Zelda's Lullaby at the three Triforce marks to change the water height; later versions add clearer route markings. To enter the original dungeon, use the Iron Boots to sink to the Lake Hylia doorway and the Hookshot to open its gate. Bring the Zora Tunic for extended underwater exploration. Iron Boots in the remake toggle faster than the old equipment screen, which is the change players feel every minute. Dark Link's island is mid-temple, not the front door. The Longshot is the prize for that fight, and several later keys assume you can grapple.

A missed key usually calls for another water-level circuit; ordinary key use does not permanently trap a standard playthrough. G2A's remake path counts four required small keys. The N64 tables count six. If your chest count does not match a video, check which version the video is. Boss key complaints belong in the middle-upper loop, not in Morpha's room. Morpha itself is the tentacle in the tank once the door is open.

Check the central tower basement — original game

When the water first rises inside the central pillar, a floating platform reveals an opening below it. Sink through that opening and explore the basement route for an easily missed key. Another common missed route is behind the bombable wall near the area where Link meets Ruto. Keep a note of which of the three water heights is active before planning a return circuit. The Longshot opens longer grapples after Dark Link, so an unreachable target can indicate an equipment requirement rather than a wrong water setting. For Morpha, stand away from the pool edge and use the Hookshot or Longshot to pull the red nucleus into sword range.
