Sheik

You will not meet Sheik while Link is still a child in the castle garden. That era belongs to Princess Zelda in person. After the Temple of Time, Sheik is the one waiting with a lesson: Temple of Time, Sacred Forest Meadow, Death Mountain Crater, Ice Cavern, Kakariko, Desert Colossus. Each lesson is a warp song, played on a harp, and each one is how the adult map stops being a long ride.

The reveal is the story's, not a rumor. Guides that tell you to attack Sheik are confusing this character with a boss. The remake's full voice track covers the scenes. Whether the masked line readings are the same actor as the unveiled princess is exactly the sort of credit the Destructoid list left blank, so this page leaves it blank too. A pre-release theory about a playable Sheik is filed under Light Temple rumors, not here.

The six lessons have specific destinations. Minuet of Forest returns Link to the Sacred Forest Meadow, Bolero of Fire to the crater, Serenade of Water to Lake Hylia, Nocturne of Shadow to the graveyard, Requiem of Spirit to the Desert Colossus, and Prelude of Light to the Temple of Time. Learning Requiem is especially useful because child Link can return to the desert after changing age. The harp performance is a lesson rather than a battle interaction: draw the ocarina when the scene calls for it. The later Temple of Time reveal explains why the masked guide knows the royal family and why Zelda has remained out of Ganondorf's reach.
