Shadow Temple

Adult temple 4 listed sources

The Shadow Temple is the dark adult temple under the graveyard. Hover Boots are the item. Bongo Bongo drums behind the boss door.

Lens, boat, invisible floor

You are expected to wear the Lens of Truth almost the entire time. Walls that look solid are gaps, and floors that look solid are air. The ferry in the middle plays Zelda's Lullaby before it moves. Skip the song and you will stand on a silent boat blaming a key. Silver rupees gate some rooms. The boss key is behind wooden spike walls that Din's Fire burns away, which is why players who skipped the great fairy at the castle road arrive stuck.

Dead Hand shows up again here without the lens prize. ReDeads line the earlier halls. Eurogamer's remake notes keep this shape: the scare is presentation, the puzzle is still the lens and the lullaby. Hover Boots are what you came for, and they are easy to walk past if you are only chasing the medallion. The Shadow Medallion is Bongo Bongo's drop, a pair of hands and a drum you have to see.

Bring the entrance requirements — original game

Use Nocturne of Shadow to reach the raised graveyard approach. The original entrance room needs Din's Fire to light the surrounding torches together; a Deku Stick is not the intended adult solution. Inside, the Lens of Truth helps identify the correct skull in the entrance puzzle and the genuine routes beyond false walls. Defeat the first Dead Hand to obtain the Hover Boots, then remember that their floating window is short. At the ship, stand on the Triforce mark and play Zelda's Lullaby. Near the Boss Key, burn the moving wooden spike walls with Din's Fire. The boss requires seeing Bongo Bongo's eye as well as handling both hands.
