Ocarina of Time is the long journey across Hyrule, two eras, temples and a single villain's rise. Majora's Mask, released 27 Apr 2000 in Japan and 26 Oct 2000 in North America, puts the same child Link in Termina on a three-day clock that you reset with the Song of Time. Masks replace the dungeon-item rhythm. The tone is tighter and stranger. People who start with Majora meet a hero who is already looking for a fairy, and the fairy is Navi, whose exit only makes sense if you saw it.
