Switch Online plays the old game

Search traffic for ocarina of time switch often means this library, not the 2026 box. The game sits with the other N64 titles. Nintendo's own description warns that performance and presentation can differ from the cartridge. There is no Master Quest icon here. Kotaku's remake piece makes the same point: the Expansion Pack copy and the new Switch 2 game both omit that quest.

A Switch 2 console can open this library too, once the membership is active. Doing so does not install the remake, does not add the jump button, and does not turn on the microphone songs. Save data does not cross between the two products. If a friend tells you the online version already includes the foil-cover cartridge's features, they are describing a different SKU.

Button help on this site that says C-right, C-down or C-left matches this release and the 1998 pad. Remake charts that say L, R, A, X and Y belong on the Switch 2 songs page. I keep those charts apart so a screenshot of one pad is not captioned as the other.
