Decomp is not the remake

Two different PC stories 4 listed sources

People searching recomp are mixing two projects. One is the finished N64 decompilation. The other is a post-launch experiment on the Switch 2 game.

Two timelines

The Zelda Reverse Engineering Team finished a matching decompilation of the Nintendo 64 game in November 2021. Ship of Harkinian builds on that work. It is a port, not an emulator ROM site, and the Wikipedia article dates the first Windows build to 22 Mar 2022.

After 5 Nov 2026, TechJuice reported that someone had the Switch 2 remake limping on PC through an experimental static recompile or emulator layer, with serious graphical errors and a floor around 15 frames per second. That is not Ship of Harkinian. This article covers the technical distinction and links the original N64 reverse-engineering project; it does not distribute game assets or experimental remake builds. If you want a legal PC-adjacent path, it is the 1998 port plus a ROM you already own, described one page up.
