Zora's Domain
Child open, adult frozen 3 listed sources
Child Link sees a living domain behind the waterfall. Adult Link finds the same cavern locked in ice, Zora included.
Waterfall, then ice
Play Zelda's Lullaby in front of the Zora's River waterfall, or take the underwater tunnel from Lake Hylia. Inside are King Zora, Princess Ruto, and a shop that sells a Zora Tunic and supplies. Ruto's child errand is the way into Jabu-Jabu. Skip her and the third spiritual stone never starts. Gold Skulltulas sit in the domain. The bottle containing Ruto's Letter is in Lake Hylia, outside this cavern.
The adult freeze is the shock. Everyone is ice. The king thaws with a blue flame carried from the ice cavern, which is a later errand, not the first adult afternoon. Adult Link can free King Zora with Blue Fire to receive the Zora Tunic; the shop entrance can also be thawed with Blue Fire. The remake's art makes the ice prettier. It does not, in the sources I used, skip the freeze.
The child letter and adult thaw — original game
The Silver Scale reward from the diving game extends the child's underwater reach and helps with the Lake Hylia bottle errand. Carry Ruto's Letter back to King Zora and show it to him so that he moves away from the passage to Zora's Fountain. Catch a fish in a bottle before approaching Jabu-Jabu. The adult visit is a different equipment task: bring an empty bottle into the Ice Cavern, collect Blue Fire and carry it back to thaw the red ice around King Zora. His tunic reward helps with the Water Temple route. Ordinary fire from a torch or Din's Fire is not a substitute for bottled Blue Fire on this ice.
