Kokiri Forest

Child Link knows every platform. Saria is here until the bridge goodbye. Mido blocks paths on principle. The Know-It-All Brothers explain buttons you will ignore. The Kokiri Sword is in the training hollow, and you need it before the Deku Tree will treat you as armed. The shop is small on purpose: shield, stick, and not much else. Gold Skulltulas are in the village if you look up.

Adult Link crosses the bridge from Hyrule Field and finds the same houses with a colder welcome. Kokiri do not grow up, and they do not file him as a neighbor anymore. That is the emotional version of the seven-year gap. The remake's launch trailer opens on this green because it is the picture everyone knows. The quest order is unchanged: sword, shield, tree, emerald.

Enter the training area, crawl through the small opening and avoid the rolling boulder to reach the Kokiri Sword chest. Gather rupees for the shop's Deku Shield, then show that Link has both pieces of equipment by approaching Mido. This opens the way to the Great Deku Tree, where the Fairy Slingshot is obtained inside the dungeon. The Slingshot is not a shop purchase. After the dungeon, leaving toward Hyrule Field triggers Saria's farewell and the Fairy Ocarina gift. The forest's three Gold Skulltulas span child-night, child soft-soil and adult-night visits. They should not be confused with the separate Heart Piece activities inside the Lost Woods.
