Nayru's Love
Adult, Desert Colossus 3 listed sources
Nayru's Love is a blue diamond around Link. It costs 12 magic, the steepest spell cost in the game, and it lasts about a minute.
A barrier with rules
The fairy who grants it stands in the Desert Colossus. Zelda's Lullaby on her fountain is the visit, and child Link can also visit after learning Requiem of Spirit and returning through the Temple of Time. While the diamond is up, damage numbers do not land. Knockback still can, so a ReDead's scream or a shove off a ledge is not solved by the spell. Other magic items stay unavailable until it ends. That is the trade: a minute of safety against the inability to drop a Din's Fire in the same window.
Players who want it for Twinrova are using it as a comfort spell, not as a required key. The Spirit Temple can be finished without it. If the fountain will not rise, you are early, or you are playing the wrong song. Twelve magic means a double meter is the comfortable way to cast it. The normal meter can support the spell; upgrading magic provides more reserve.
Finding the desert fountain — original game
At the Desert Colossus, look for the cracked wall near the pair of palm trees and use a bomb to uncover the fountain entrance. Inside, stand on the Triforce mark and play Zelda's Lullaby. Learning Requiem of Spirit as an adult allows a later child visit through the warp song, so the reward is not restricted to one age. The protection is optional for ordinary progression and should not be confused with the Mirror Shield that the Spirit Temple actually requires. Watch ledges while the barrier is active: immunity to direct damage does not give control over knockback, pit falls or puzzle timing.
