The foil cover
Cartridge edition Sources checked · 7 Nov 2026
The physical game is a full cartridge. TweakTown and Gaming Hybrid both say it is not a key card that still needs a 27 GB download.
How to tell a first print
US $69.99 and euro €69.99 are the shelf prices repeated by TweakTown, Gaming Hybrid, Numerama and the German bonus roundup. The textured foil cover belongs to the first wave of boxes. Later printings may drop it. There is no separate foil edition to preorder. A seller who prices a matte box as the foil one is using the texture as a premium. Look at the cover in the photo, not at the title in the listing.
France's Micromania raffled 5,000 replicas of the 1998 European box. That raffle is closed. It was a shop promotion, not a Nintendo SKU. There is still no collector's edition of the game.
